Invite Team Members
Add people to your organization, and see what happens to each address you add
Invite people from Team. Every plan includes unlimited users, so adding a member never changes your bill.
Add a member
Use this when someone new needs to open the organization.
- Open Team.
- Click Add member in the page header.
- Only the owner and members with the admin role see Add member.
- In Email address, enter the person's address.
- In Role, choose the person's role.
- Only the owner can give the admin role.
- If you leave Role on Office Staff (default), the person gets the office staff role.
- Each role sets what its members can open and change. See Create and Edit Roles and Permissions.
- Click Add member.
The member list shows the new person.
Remove a member
Removing a person ends their access to the organization. For the steps, see Remove a Member or Leave an Organization.
Nobody can remove the owner or themselves. The owner can remove any other member. Admins can remove members who don't have the admin role. Only the owner can remove an admin.
What happens to an address you add
Adding an address takes one of four paths, depending on the account behind it.
- A new address gets an invitation email with a link to set a password. The person appears in the member list before they set one.
- An existing account joins right away, without accepting an invitation. The person gets an email saying they were added, with a link to leave the organization.
- An address that was invited but never set a password counts as an existing account. It joins at once and gets that same email, with no new invitation. The invitation sets no unverified flag, because it stores only user metadata.
- An account that signed up and hasn't verified its email stops the add. Have the person verify it, then add them again.
- A person who is already a member stops the add, and nothing changes.
The Team page has no resend or cancel control for an invitation. To end one, remove the person from the team.
