Keep the office and the crews in one team chat

Channels, direct messages and threads for your whole team, with jobs, quotes and invoices linked right in the conversation.

How It Works

Every conversation about the work, in one place

From the morning crew update to the invoice question that comes after it.

  1. 01 Team Channels

Start with #general and #crew-updates on day one

Every organization starts with both channels, and everyone joins them. Add your own channels and choose who can read or post, by role or by person.

  2. 02 Linked Records

Point to the exact job instead of describing it

Type # to link a job, quote, invoice, contact or lead in a message. Teammates see a card with its status and open the record from it.

  3. 03 Direct Messages

Talk privately with one teammate or a small group

Start a message with one person or a group of up to nine people. Only the people in the conversation can read it.

  4. 04 Threads and Search

Side conversations stay tidy and easy to find

Reply in a thread so the channel stays readable, then close it when the work is done. Search finds any message or shared file by person, channel or date.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Yes. Team chat works in the browser on a phone, with the same channels, threads and messages as on a computer. Crews can post an update, attach a photo or reply in a thread from the job site.

Direct and group messages are private to the people in them, so nobody else in the organization can read them, owners and admins included. A private channel is readable by the roles and people you add to it, plus the owner and admins. Each person's chat access also follows the Chat permission on their role.

Every organization starts with #general for the whole team and #crew-updates for news from the field. Everyone in the organization is joined to both, and new teammates join them when they are added. You can rename, leave or archive them like any other channel.

Yes. Attach up to 10 files to a message, each up to 10 MB, and images show right in the conversation. The Files tab in chat search lists everything shared in the conversations you can read.

Each conversation has its own setting: all activity, mentions only, or mute. Muting hides the unread count, but a teammate mentioning you by name still reaches you. You choose which chat notifications you get in your notification settings.

Start a thread on a message to keep a side discussion out of the main feed. People who reply or are mentioned in it follow it and hear about new replies. A thread can close on its own after a quiet hour, day, three days or week, or be closed by hand when the work is done.
