Search Home Depot products from a quote or invoice and add each one as a line item. Each Home Depot line keeps the supplier cost it was priced from, and its sell price is that cost with the markup applied. The [**Home Depot Catalog**](/go/settings/catalog) page under Settings sets the default markup, store ZIP, and lookup switch.

## Set the default markup and store ZIP

Set these before you add products. Each new Home Depot line starts with the default markup.

1. Open **Home Depot Catalog** from the Settings list. If it is missing, the catalog is not available to your organization.
2. Set **Type** to **Percentage** or **Fixed amount**.
3. Enter the value in **Percent above cost** or **Dollars above cost**. The value must be from 0 to 100000.
4. Enter the **Store ZIP override**, up to 16 characters. A blank field uses your business address ZIP.
5. Turn on **Enable Home Depot product lookup**. Until it is on, quotes and invoices do not show **Add from Home Depot catalog**.
6. Click **Save changes**.

Reopening this page shows the saved values.

## Add a product to a quote or invoice

Open a quote or invoice you can edit, because read-only documents hide the add button. To create one, see [creating a quote](/help/quotes/create-a-quote) or [creating an invoice](/help/invoices/create-an-invoice).

1. Click **Add from Home Depot catalog** below the line items.
2. In the **Add Home Depot Item** window, type at least two characters. Results load after a short pause.
3. Click a product. The window closes, and the product is added as a new line.
   - A result that shows **No price** adds a line with a cost of zero.
4. Check **Cost** and **Sell price** in the pricing details that open under the new line.

The line takes the product title as its description, and its sell price is the cost with the default markup applied.

## Refresh a line's price

Refreshing is manual, so a line keeps its captured cost until you refresh it.

1. If the pricing details are closed, click the chevron beside the line's description.
2. Click the refresh icon in the pricing details.
3. Check **Cost**, **Sell price**, and **Price as of**.

The line shows the new cost, a recalculated sell price, and the new capture date in the footer.

## Unlink a line from Home Depot

Unlinking turns the line into one you edit by hand. The line stays on the document.

> **Warning:** Typing in the description of a Home Depot line also unlinks it, and clears its cost and markup.

1. If the pricing details are closed, click the chevron beside the line's description.
2. Click the unlink icon in the pricing details.
3. Confirm the unlink in the dialog.

The line keeps its sell price, and its cost, markup, and Home Depot details are cleared. Its **Unit price** can then be typed.

## Who can use the catalog

- Viewing the **Home Depot Catalog** page needs view permission for Settings.
- Changing settings needs edit permission for Settings. Without it, the fields are disabled and **Save changes** is hidden.
- Searching for products needs view permission for Quotes or Invoices. Without it, **Add from Home Depot catalog** does not appear.

## What the pricing fields show

- **Cost**: the supplier price captured when the product was added or last refreshed. Recurring jobs and invoices reprice their lines when each occurrence is created.
- **Markup**: a percentage of the cost, or a fixed dollar amount. A toggle beside the field switches between the two.
- **Sell price**: the cost with the markup applied, which is the price the line charges.
- **Profit**: the sell price minus the cost.
- **Price as of**: the date the supplier price was captured.
- Footer: a price captured more than 30 days ago is marked outdated, and offers a **Refresh** button.
- Footer: a sell price below cost shows a warning icon.
- **Unit price**: comes from the markup, so it cannot be typed on a Home Depot line.
