A recurring job repeats the same work for one customer on a set schedule.
JobWise creates each visit up to 14 days ahead. Schedules live on the
[**Recurring**](/go/jobs/recurring) page in the sidebar.

## Create a recurring job

Use this when one customer needs the same visit on a regular schedule.

1. Select **New recurring job** on the **Recurring** page.
   - Admin, Manager, Office Staff, and Team Lead can create and change schedules
     by default.
   - Sales can open the page and view schedules, but cannot change them.
   - Tech cannot open this page.
   - Roles decide which pages and actions each team member gets. See
[Create and Edit Roles and Permissions](/help/team/roles-and-permissions).
2. Enter a **Title**.
3. Choose a **Customer**.
   - Choose the **Service address** for the visits.
4. Set the **Start date**.
   - The first visit falls on this date.
5. Set the **Visit time**. It starts at 09:00.
6. Choose how often the job **Repeats**.
   - Choose **Custom…** to set your own interval.
   - **Ends** starts at **Never**. Choose **On date** or **After** to stop the
     repeats.
7. Select **Create recurring job**.

The page opens the saved schedule, and its panel is titled **Visit schedule**.

## Generate a job now

Use this to add a job today without changing the schedule.

1. Open the schedule from the **Recurring** page.
2. Open **Schedule actions**.
3. Select **Generate job now**.
   - It appears only for active schedules.
4. Select **Generate now** to confirm.

A job dated today appears under **Generated jobs**.

> **Warning:** With **Generate an invoice for every visit** on, the invoice
> is created right away. Any email or charge you turned on runs with it.

## Edit a recurring job

Use this to change the settings on a schedule you already created.

1. Open the schedule from the **Recurring** page.
2. Change the fields you need.
3. Under **Checklist**, open **Templates** to use a saved checklist.
   - The **Checklist** section appears only for Admin, Manager, Office Staff,
     and Team Lead.
   - Checklists let the team tick off each step of a job as the work gets done.
     See [Use Job Checklists](/help/jobs/use-job-checklists).
4. Select **Save changes**.

## Pause, resume, or cancel a recurring job

Use this to pause a schedule, resume it later, or cancel it.

1. Open the schedule from the **Recurring** page.
2. Open **Schedule actions**.
3. Choose the action you need.
   - Select **Pause** to stop new visits. It appears only for active schedules.
   - Select **Resume** to restart a paused or completed schedule.
   - Select **Cancel recurring** to stop new visits. Only Admin and Manager can
     cancel.

The schedule panel shows the new status.

> **Warning:** Visits already on the calendar still get invoiced when their time
> passes, even after you pause or cancel.

## Delete a recurring job

Use this to remove a schedule from the list, or cancel it to keep it listed.

1. Open the schedule from the **Recurring** page.
2. Open **Schedule actions**.
3. Select **Delete**.
   - Only Admin and Manager can delete.
4. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.

The schedule leaves the list.

> **Warning:** Visits that have not been invoiced yet are skipped once the schedule
> is deleted. Jobs already generated are kept.

## What each schedule creates

These settings control what each generated job does.

- **Generate an invoice for every visit** creates a draft invoice dated the visit's
day. It is finalized when it is emailed or charged.
- **Email the invoice to the customer** appears only when invoices are on. It sends
once the invoice is generated. If the charge goes through, the customer gets a
  receipt instead.
- **Auto-charge a saved payment method** charges the saved card when the invoice is
generated. Use **Add payment method** to save a card. To take a card
payment by hand, see [Collect a Card Payment](/help/invoices/collect-a-payment).
- A failed charge is retried 24 hours later, then 72 hours after that, and stops
  after three attempts.
- **Due in (days)** sets the invoice due date, counted from the invoice date.
- **Generate a quote on the first visit** creates a draft quote for the first visit.
- **Templates** loads a saved checklist, and each job starts with its items unchecked.
- **Generated jobs** lists the jobs the schedule created.
- If generating a visit fails, the schedule stays active, and JobWise retries it
  on a later run.
